Three Cases of Mixed Tumor of Palate


Abstract
Three cases of mixed tumor of palate, salivary gland origin, have been experienced, and had a rather good effects with surgical procedure on them.
Case I : 25 years old housewife visited our clinic on Nov. 9, 1959 with the complaint of foreign body sensation in mouth. A hen egg sized tumor mass was found on right side of hard palate, which has been grown since 10 years gradually. Biopsy showed mixed tumor, and radical extirpation of the tumor was made on December 9 of this year. No recurrence is noticed by this time.
Case II : 30 years o14 male also, visited on, June 20, 1960 with the complaints of swallowing difficulty, phonating disturbance and foreign body sensation in the mouth since past 5 years. On examination child fist sizedd mass was found on left soft palate and parapharynx. With the subjective result from biopsy, radical operation was made on July 7 by submandibular approach. No recurrence is seen yet.
Case III : 13 years old orphan girl was accidently found. tumor on left hard palate while she was in the Eye Ward for cataract operation. She stated that she has not had any symptoms but it was found about 3 years ago. Without biopsy, operation of extirpation was made on November 1, and the frozen section showed mixed tumor. Postoperative course is very uneventful.
